FACTA 2021
Sunday 18 April – Wednesday 21 April 2021
The Calile Brisbane, Queensland

President’s Welcome

Dr Dimitri Gerostamoulos,
FACTA President

Dear FACTA Members,

We would like to formally invite FACTA members, accompanying people and sponsors to the 11th FACTA Conference to be held 18-21 April 2021 at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane, Queensland.

Our meetings have been very successful over the past few years in inviting world-renowned experts to provide informative and current information on selected toxicology themes. For our meeting in Brisbane, we have been fortunate to engage Professor Marilyn Huestis who is well known to many of our members.

Marilyn is a past president of TIAFT/SOFT and has been involved in toxicology research, forensic casework, government committees and international agencies always providing authoritative and expert advice at all levels. We are excited to have Marilyn as our guest speaker for this meeting and she will be delivering 3 keynote lectures on relevant topics in our field. Those topics are largely around cannabis but importantly we have also committed to having a panel discussion involving selected experts on medicinal cannabis. This is an important discussion and having Marilyn here will facilitate to enhance our understanding of cannabis and its application in therapeutic medicine. The impact of medicinal cannabis use from a regulatory point of view will also be discussed with an emphasis on drug testing.

The meeting will commence on Sunday 18th April with our opening Welcome Reception being held at The Calile Hotel rooftop (The Amphitheatre) between 5-7pm; there is also a Conference Dinner planned for the evening of Tuesday 20th April at the superb Hellenika Restaurant.

We look forward to engaging our members and sponsors - a prospectus is available to on the Sponsorship & Exhibition page as well as opportunities for vendor workshops. We have locked in an exclusive rate for FACTA delegates at the five-star conference hotel for $235/night. There is also ample accommodation in the surrounding area and city, all very close to the venue. We have limited capacity at this hotel so I would encourage all of you to register and book accommodation early to avoid disappointment.

If you would like any more information please contact any of the FACTA committee on secretary@facta.org.au. We look forward to seeing in you Brisbane!
